Planning Phase:
Our previous planning is to organise motivation camp in secondary school but the planning failed as recently is the school holidays. After meet up several times with our advisor, and also among our team members, we have decided to contact National Cancer Council Malaysia (MAKNA) to participate their event at KLCC called "The Uncommon Good". Successfully,we manage to contact Miss Priya, the person in charge for that event, and we help the exhibition as volunteer.Through this volunteering event, we found another opportunity of volunteering which is at Pertubuhan Pusat Kebajikan Destiny located at Klang. With the cooperation of all team members, we manage to accomplish these two volunteering works successfully.
Execution Phase 1:
The Uncommon Good- NPO Forum and Fair
24-25 November 2017
KLCC
During the event day, we depart from UM around 6.30am as we have to attend the short briefing of the event at 7.30am. After the briefing, we are distributed into our respective department in the conference hall. Me and Alissa in charge of the Education Cluster, the rest of my team members are distributed into Healthcare, Welfare and Environment clusters. In Environment clusters, the participating NPO's project in the Education booth are Project TRY, Viva Starfish Project,PINTAR Foundation, Teach For Malaysia and so on. Before we start the event, we are given a briefing about those projects' organisation. During the event, we engage with public through explanation of what those projects doing, what are the impacts to society and raise the awareness to the underprivileged children who can't get education. I was stationed at Viva Starfish Project booth, the project is actually selling mineral water, but 10% of the profit will donate to those underprivileged children for their primary education. This project provide life changing solutions to people in need through purchasing of everyday products, what a creative and wonderful idea. Looking deep into this projects, I noticed that thousands of kids in Malaysia have not received basic education, meanwhile Malaysians spent hundreds of millions of ringgit every year on bottled of water, so this project is applicable and useful. Besides, I also visit other booths and I have learnt lots of extra knowledge like what others NPOs doing and their projects' purpose towards society.

Execution Phase 2:
Pertubuhan Pusat Kebajikan Destiny
1st December 2017
Klang
After we reach Klang, we have breakfast together before we go to the charity home. When we reached there, the kids were so happy to see us.We listen to Miss Irene(person in charge) for briefing around 15mins about this charity centre and the kids from different backgrounds(mostly of them are refugees). There is around 30 kids on that day. What they do is they teach the kids values and discipline to make them adapt into society in the future. Miss Irene emphasizes that 2-6 years old is the early stage for them to learn and form a well identitiy that can change their life. After that, we introduce ourselves to the kids, then we do ice breaking with them through dancing together. Besides, we spend one hour to teach the kids some basics alphabets and we really have a enjoyable time with them. During lunch time, we help the teachers to feed some kids who are reluctant to eat or don't know how to chew foods. After lunch, we help them to clean themselves before they have a short nap. After the short nap, we watch movie together then it was the time to say goodbye and we take a group with them.

Post Project Reflection:
Through these activities, our group have achieved the objectives of this subject which is engage with the society and make some impact to the society, directly or indirectly. Thanks to Dr.Awanis and also our advisor,Dr Badrul for guiding us along the time.I believe that through our works, we mange to raise awareness of certain issues to the public, and also promote volunteering among us.I have learnt extra knowledge through "The Uncommon Good"event, especially about NPOs and volunteering and these knowledge won't gain by reading books. Besides, through this event, it opens my mind, from the way I think and also perceive on certain issues.I have improve myself to engage with public and also communication skills.I believe that what we done will impact the society from different perspectives, even a small action could change the world better.Through the visit to Pertubuhan Pusat Kebajikan Destiny, firstly I feel fortunate that I born in a conducive environment, not like them. Most of them are refugees, and they don't even have a chance to get education. They actually need helps also as well as underprivileged kids from Malaysia. I start to notice about underprivileged children and feel sympathy to them. These kids come from a very tough and difficult background, and they have to strive stronger for their life. I have also learnt that moral values and well discipline are very important to kids. These make them to become a good attitude person therefore can adapt to society. I sincerely hope they have a better life in the future.
