TREASURING VALUES HANIIF LUTFILLAH BIN ABU BAKAR KIL160020 Self reflection: Values are something that is important in life. Values ca nnot be exchanged in any way or form. Everyone has something that they value and of course that includes me as well. A value is something that a specific person or groups respects and affectively regards it as something important in their life. Firstly, I can find that I get the value of c ommitment.  Commitment shows loyalty and it can show bravery and tenacity as well. A commitment is a promise made and an expectation we have created. Honoring our commitments can make the difference between achieving what’s most important to us or feeling disappointed and defeated.  Throughout both events, I found that a committed person or a committed team is the only way to make any event a huge success. Without this value, the event would not achieve its target thus this will cause the unsatisfactory feeling in each one of us. Ne...

Self Reflection Au Hui Yan

Au Hui Yan, KIL170514 Planning Phase During the early stage of planning, we have experienced many difficulties. Our first plan, organising camps in several secondary schools to introduce the Form 4 students to the engineering field, did not work out. However, this did not stop us from finding more suitable organisations that accept volunteers. Luckily, we came across the National Cancer Council Malaysia (MAKNA) and met Ms. Priya, who was the person-in-charge of the volunteering department of an exhibition, named ‘ The Uncommon Good ’. It was held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on the 24 th and 25 th of November 2017. In this exhibition, we found much more Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) than we could ever imagine and know. Through the journey of exploring, we found an organisation called Pertubuhan Pusat Kebajikan Destiny, which is located in Klang, where they specifically take in and take care of refugee children. We gladly joined as volunteers. I strongly believe ...

Social Engagement? Personally, after hearing about this course from so many mouths I don't think this course will give such a 'WOW' impact on me. Fortunately, starting from the first day until the last day of our project I can say that my first impression is totally WRONG! . Why????                    First thing first, I have such an amazing team stand side by side with me. Cannot ask for more ( I'm a sweet person right guys? Haha). After went through all the discussion with my team member and Dr. Badrul (our great advisor), we decided to participate in the volunteering work that organized by National Cancer Council Malaysia (MAKNA) that held an exhibition themed "The Uncommon Good" at KLCC. WAIT! Things become more interesting when we found another volunteering project through our involvement in this exhibition which is at Pertubuhan Pusat Kebajikan De...

But it's failed because of school holidays. After emailed a lot of NGOs, we managed to participate in an event as the volunteers in KLCC which was called "The Uncommon Good" organized by National Cancer Council Malaysia(MAKNA). The consequence of this event, we continued our volunteering at Pertubuhan Pusat Kebajikan Destiny located in Klang. With the cooperation of all team members and our advisor, Dr Badrul, we managed to complete this two volunteering successfully. Execution Phase 1: The Uncommon Good - NPO Forum and Fair 24-25 November 2017 KLCC We depart from UM at 6:30 am and travel to KLCC by LRT. The reason why we departed way too early because we need to hear a simple breafing and receive our volunteer's shirt at 7:30 am. All booth in the hall being catego...
